Summary
The advancement of nursing interventions and knowledge of effective nursing protocols to achieve optimal outcomes has exploded in the last decade. Awareness of evidence to support nursing practice has not grown as rapidly as the valuable resources that are available. Educating nurses to achieve optimal outcomes based on the best evidence available is among the greatest challenges that emerge in the health care environment mandated to change. The profession of nursing is indebted to organizations such as the Robert Wood Foundation that not only supports the development of research for use in practice but also provides support for the translation of research into practice. For, what good is the best evidence if it does not transition into practice, or is not effectively utilized? What good is the most beautiful sounding bell, if not rung, or the most endearing song, if not sung? -- http://www.nursing.theclinics.com/
