Summary
In this third program on Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Bosnian War, we look at the health concerns for the people of Bosnia and view SAGA films, including the documentary, Sarajevo Ground Zero II. Humanitarian Fred Cuny and film director Nedzad Begovic speak of the difficulties in finding clean water and other health concerns during wartime. Ivica Puljic, a Sarajevo journalist, and Tony Borden, editor of the Balkan War Report, also comment on life in a time of war. The late Bosnian director Mirza Idrizovic explains his opinion on the strange environment that surrounds him; also the Serb soldier Borislav Herak tells of being sentenced to death by firing squad after confessing to war crimes. Then we hear from French filmmaker Francois Lunel as he talks of survival. The late political activist Susan Sontag and Bosnian poet Abdulah Sidran voice their thoughts and opinions. Pulitzer Prize winner and NY Times' foreign correspondent John Burns ends this unique 'inside-out' coverage of the war by describing it as 'part news, part horror movie.'
