Summary
This powerful documentary profiles women who are at the center of a new global trend. They share a nothing-will-stand-in-my-way attitude and a vision for the future that leads them onto the world stage. They champion human rights which are often in conflict with the profit of multinational companies. We meet Canada's Josephine Grey and Mexico's Bertha Lujan who are leading an exciting social movement to help people out of poverty. Josephine Grey has brought world attention to the growing gap between rich and poor in Canada. Through her efforts a U.N. committee chastised the Canadian government for its treatment of the poor.Bertha Lujan leads an organization dedicated to protecting the rights of thousands of Mexican workers. They mobilize to improve conditions for workers in foreign owned factories across Mexico. Bertha's organization brought international attention to the case of Maria Delgado, who was fired after attempting to unionize her factory. Knowing that she has allies, Maria is now educating others to stand up for their rights. Women of Change is a testimony to the potential strength of "sisterhood" across borders
