- Summary
- There's a border drawn upon the seas between North and South Korea, remnants of the nightmare of war 60 years ago. The Northern Limit Line (NLL) is a border between those who wish to guard it and those who wish to break it, a border connecting the past as well as the present. In 1999, the first hostility interrupted the quiet divide since the Korean War, and the border's inception in 1953. The war had stopped without victory or defeat. What exactly happened on the western seas of Korea? To answer this question we must go back in time, back to the line of fire. Part one discovers five islands of the South Korean territory, located just north of the NLL. Guerilla members organized by the US Army to recover South Korean territories during the war are still hiding here in fear of North Korean retribution, carrying the guilt of leaving their comrades and families in the north. Their existence is rarely mentioned in the records of the war. The 20,000 men of the guerilla unit, upon infiltrating the deepest parts of enemy lines and guiding the US and Allied Forces to victory, were conveniently erased from history. The crew needed concrete evidence, and discovered it in the most unexpected of places
