Summary
A study of popular sentiment during the 1952 presidential campaign in which typical housewives, farmers and representatives of business and labor explain how they expect to vote. Dr. George Gallup, director of the American Institute of Public Opinion, explains the method of forecasting probable results on the basis of public opinion polls. For each of the mentioned segments of the population, the issues of concern are presented, the candidates, Eisenhower and Stevenson, are shown addressing the issue, a member of that group is interviewed and results of the Gallup poll are compared to the interviewed representative. The major issues of that campaign year are covered, including the Taft-Hartley Act, defense spending, foreign relations, the Korean War and corruption and inefficency in government
