Basic cardiac monitoring

(Producer) This program discusses cardiac dysrhythmias of the atrioventricular node and the ventricles. In the introduction, the importance of dysrhythmias is presented, and the nursing responsibilities in responding to a dysrhythmia are reviewed. The program then presents four dysrhythmias originating in the AV node, and four dysrhythmias originating in the ventricles. These include: junctional arrhythmias, first degree AV block, second degree AV block, third degree, or complete AV block, premature ventricular contractions, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, and asystole, though this may not originate in the ventricles
